A white wine grape variety native to Bordeaux. It is mainly blended with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, and is not often used alone.
The taste ranges from sweet to dry, and the concentrated flavor of Semillon makes it suitable for long-term aging.
Because the skin is thin, it is easily infected with noble rot, and it is also used as an ingredient in very sweet noble rot wine.
