Cepage is the French word for variety.
In wine terms, varietal varietal refers to the grape varieties used in a wine, or the proportion of each variety used in a single bottle of wine.
This term is not used to describe single-variety wines, but rather to describe wines made from a mixture of multiple varieties, such as "Bordeaux blends."
