Colombard is a white wine grape variety native to France. It is mainly cultivated in France, the United States, South Africa, etc., and is also produced in small quantities in Australia and Thailand.
In the Charente department in southwestern France, this variety is also famous for being used as an ingredient in the brandies "Cognac" and "Armagnac."
In other producing regions, it is sometimes called "French Colombard", and produces fruity wines ranging from sweet to dry.
