A famous Sauvignon Blanc producing region in the Loire Valley of France. Located across from Sancerre, it produces dry Sauvignon Blanc with a gorgeous aroma and complex flavor.
Fumé means "smoke," "steam," or "smoked," and there are several theories about its origin: one is that it comes from the thick fog that occurs in this area, and the other is that it comes from the smoky aroma that occurs in white wines made from the limestone soil.
