In the Bordeaux region, wine has long been made by blending multiple grape varieties. Producers around the world have followed this example and are now making wines modeled on the Bordeaux style.
These wines are called "Bordeaux blend" wines.
Many of the Bordeaux blends are
- Cabernet Sauvignon
- Merlot
These two grape varieties dominate.
In addition, as a supplementary variety
- Cabernet Franc
- Malbec
- Petit Verdot
- Carmenere
etc. are blended.
