As always, bad things continue to happen to humans in this world, but for viruses, it could be said that this has been a ``successful year'' in causing suffering to humans for the first time in 100 years since the Spanish flu.
But I want to tell that guy.
In 2021, you may have indeed demonstrated a great presence on this planet, following on from 2020.
However, those of us who are still surviving are not discouraged by your interference and are achieving great success.
What are the big successes? Let me give you an example of my 2021.
- The wine bar Bokumo survived.
Hehe. You thought we would go under, right? Well, it's not that easy. It's true that we were closed for a long time, and there were times when our mental health was about to be broken. But we have staff who share the same aspirations. We have customers who are waiting for us. We applied for cooperation grants and employment adjustment subsidies, reduced the number of seats, put up acrylic panels, and did a lot of other things. Unfortunately, things didn't go according to plan.
- He opened a wine shop called "Bokumo Wine."
I'm sure you didn't think it would come to this. If we use our wisdom, we can find a way to make it work even if there is a virus. We haven't reached our goal yet, but thanks to you, we were able to take on a new challenge this year, which was a big harvest. Serves you right. I'm going to be more aggressive this year.
- I realized how grateful I am for human relationships.
You probably wanted to make things awkward. But it didn't work out that way. "Are you okay?" "Let's do our best." "Tell me if you have any problems."
You brought out the positive aspects of the people around me. It helped me a lot. Thanks to you, I was able to say "Let's do our best together." I guess that was unexpected. I'm sorry.
- My mother's illness is improving.
You may think this has nothing to do with you. But it's not. When you were spreading, it was very difficult to cure other diseases. It was a difficult disease, and it was very hard to treat and go to the hospital while being careful not to get infected.
However, by pooling our wisdom and strength together, we were able to turn things around for the better. Now I'm in the kitchen and working in the fields. Don't underestimate the resilience of humans.
Well, it looks like a huge success no matter how you look at it.
We're tenacious.
I think you're starting to realize that continuing to be so aggressive isn't a good idea.
It's about time we started to weaken the poison, isn't it?
That's fine. You have already left your mark on history. Of course, there are still many who have died and suffered hardships. I acknowledge your strength.
But let me just say that your success is just a test for us to survive and become even more successful.
You must be tired by now. Please take your time and head home somewhere less conspicuous.
Come on everyone.
Let's make 2022 a year of great progress. Let's persevere and aim for great success!
This week's pairing
Bokumo carbonara.
About 10 years ago, my colleague from my days as a radio director, DJ Ochiai Kentaro, came to Bokumo.
When I said to the chef, "It's not on the menu, but I'd like to eat carbonara," he replied, "Yes! I'll make it for you!" and this is what I brought out.
Since then, he has been the undisputed center forward for pasta. It was an unexpected success. Thanks, Ochiken.
I think the best wine to pair with this is a full-bodied, mellow white wine.
If you're looking for value for money, this is it.
Villa Maria Private Bin Chardonnay 2020
It's reasonably priced and has a strong barrel flavor.
This allows you to enjoy more complex nuances.
Mahi Marlborough Chardonnay 2018
I also love the natural wine Mahi. You can really taste the oak.
If you want to match it with red, this is it.
Osawa Wines Flying Sheep Sangiovese 2013
A combo of Italian-inspired dishes and Italian grape varieties.
It has a sour taste and just the right amount of astringency, and goes perfectly with cream and cheese.
