The curse of cost performance
I've been going to the supermarket a lot lately.
"What kind of food and wine would be fun to pair?"
"When restaurants can reopen, I wonder what the new menu will be like."
I walk around the store with a basket in hand, daydreaming about all sorts of things.
Before I knew it, I had been walking around the meat, fish, and side dish sections several times.
Wait a minute.
What am I looking for right now?
Ah, I see, without realising it, I'm looking for that!
it is···
A small yellow and red square appears in the evening. It says "20% off."
Yes, my eyes are drawn to the discount stickers.
Where, where. Where are the yellow and the red?
Is it time for today? Come out now, clerk.
Before I knew it, it was already the fourth week.
There it is! The store clerk has the sticker! Ok, the mark fits perfectly on the back.
I'll stick it on, I'll stick it on, I've stuck it on!
I instantly put the meat that was marked as 20% off in my basket! I smiled!
...No good.
This is not good.
It would be very embarrassing if Bokumo's customers saw something like this.
It's amazing to see the people who usually sell wines that cost several thousand yen a bottle (or even more expensive wines) saying things like, "This wine is really elegant," salivating in their everyday lives as they wait for the discount sticker.
If the person seen was a regular customer, it would be fine. Later, at the counter, they could just say, "Oops, someone saw me in an uncool spot, tee hee."
However, if you feel a little distant...
"Found a very poor sommelier waiting for a sticker lol"
"An alchemist who eats cheap food and sells expensive wine?"
Yes, they might let you post it on the internet.
bad.
And if, by some chance, the person who saw him was the woman he had his first love with (what a delusion),
"Oh, Iwasu-kun, it's been a while... Perhaps you're waiting for your sticker to be put on?"
Well, I guess I'll just disappear.
45 years old, older sommelier.
I'm at the mercy of cost performance.
Are the problems bigger than expected?
Speaking of which, I recently heard the word "cost performance" from a close friend who is a hairdresser.
I have been having my hair cut by a hairdresser named Iwanaga for over 10 years.
We've grown older together over the past 10 years, and he's a hairdresser who always looks at me objectively.
A little while ago, Mr. Iwanaga moved to a new salon and started working there, so I decided to continue going to him to get my hair cut.
However, the new place seems to be quite popular. I thought it might be a little difficult to make a reservation.
I asked, "I would like to make my next appointment on the same day that you cut my hair, so please let me know if I forget."
And then.
Until now, I would make an appointment to have my hair cut only when it got too long and I couldn't stand it anymore, so it was once every two to three months. However, once I started making appointments for the following month every time, naturally, I was able to get it cut exactly once a month.
Iwanaga says:
"In the end, it was a good value for money."
Huh? I've started coming here more often, and it's still cost-effective?
"Yes, the most important thing for an old man is cleanliness.
If you come once a month, we can keep it in good condition, so I think it's a good value for the money to maintain cleanliness."
I see.
There is nothing more cost-effective than trying to make your hair look clean despite it being messy. Even if you use a lot of hair styling products and spend a lot of time styling it, it never looks clean.
In that case, it would be much better to get a haircut at the salon every month before the cleanliness expiration date passes.
Now that I understand this and go to the hairdresser once a month, I'm very happy.
It's a great relief to not have to think so much about "hair cleanliness" every day.
If I were to bump into my first love in the street (fantasy number two),
"Oh, Iwasu-kun! Your hair isn't all messy!"
...I'm not going to be told that, but at the very least, you won't have to break out in a cold sweat and think, "Oh no, do I look clean right now?"
"It's okay because it's the best solution proposed by Mr. Iwanaga, who knows me well (within the expiration date)." I thought this was a great value for money.
I see.
Good cost performance doesn't mean "keeping your wallet balance as low as possible."
"It's the feeling of satisfaction and security that exceeds your expectations for the amount of money you spend."
I bought some meat with a sticker on it, but did I end up cooking with it, eating it, and getting a satisfaction that exceeded my expectations?
That's the problem.
That being said, it seems I wasn't all that satisfied.
In the end, I guess the moment when I realized I'd gotten a good deal was the peak of my excitement.
Okay, let's go to the supermarket early today so I don't have to worry about stickers.
Autumn flavor wine
That's right.
The same can be said about Bokumo wine.
I think the peak of excitement comes when you actually taste the wine and pair it with food, rather than the moment you click on the button to order it from an online shop.
That's why we have to introduce items that will make people think, "Ah, this wine made my time so happy."
With the hope that you can make the most of your time at home, we have put together a new wine set.
A variety of autumn flavors have begun to appear in supermarkets, so this time we are introducing a set of New Zealand wines that go perfectly with autumn flavors .
I think that many of the flavors of autumn are very savory, so a wine with a strong umami flavor would go well with them, rather than a lighter one.
This time, we have put together a set of one each of these delicious "white," "rosé," and "red" wines. All are dry. All are the type that go well with meals.
I would be happy if it sparked lively conversation at the dinner table, such as, "Having a wine that goes well with the food makes for a good time."

By the way, if you go to the product introduction page for this set, you will see a lot of photos of dishes using autumn flavors. It may be dangerous to browse on an empty stomach (lol).
