Many of the people who come to Bokumo say they want to go to New Zealand or go on a winery tour.
We also hear from people who have purchased wine from Boxmo Wine that they want to go to New Zealand (some say they want to go back), but for now I enjoy the local atmosphere through wine.
Even if you don't go, you will come.
Yes, wineries from New Zealand are coming here!
The best part of visiting a local winery is being able to listen to the producer's voice while sipping wine.
What kind of land was the glass of wine in front of you made in, who had what feelings about it, and how was it made?
By knowing this, you can truly appreciate that wine is a drink made with the passion of the people who make it, and you can appreciate the flavor more deeply.
"Meet the Winemakers" is an event series in which Bokumo/Bokumo Wine invites winemakers from New Zealand, with the aim of allowing people to experience this joy of learning while in Japan.
This time at Meet the Winemakers, we will be welcoming...
Pegasus Bay is highly regarded as the most important winery in North Canterbury, near Christchurch on the South Island!
Edward Donaldson, the second son of the founding Donaldson family, arrives.
Yes, Pegasus is flapping its wings across the sea and coming to Nagoya.

The biggest feature of Pegasus Bay is that it has consistently remained a family-run business and has not been swayed by the opinions of profit-seeking shareholders.
We make the highest quality wines that we can produce in our own fields. This is our only belief, and we never make "trendy wines" that are market-oriented.
The four sons who followed in their father's (who is also a neurologist) founding business are each making use of their own areas of expertise: Matthew the eldest is the brewer, Edward the second is in charge of marketing, Mike the third is in sales, and Pork the youngest is general manager.
Pegasus Bay's first release was in 1991 (during the father's time). In 1993, the eldest son took over as winemaker, and since then, he has made a name for himself as a master of Riesling and Pinot Noir.
The region also produces a rare Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet, as well as a wine that blends Sauvignon Blanc with Semillon, creating a Bordeaux Blanc-esque style.
Along with the Pegasus Bay series, the second label, "Main Divide" line, is also very popular.
This is an affordable series brewed from grapes from our own vineyards as well as grapes purchased from contracted farmers, and it also has a wide lineup.
On the day of the event, we will have 10 different types of Pegasus Bay + Maindi Vide wines available.
Appetizers such as New Zealand mussels and lamb chop steak will be available in buffet style.
Taste some excellent wines while Edward Donaldson gives you information about the winery and the wines.
If you find a wine you like on the day, you can purchase it to take home (we can also sign the bottle and take a commemorative photo).
The wine lineup is as follows, with the suggested retail price per bottle listed in parentheses.
Main Divide Riesling 2020 (¥3,740)
Main Divide Sauvignon Blanc 2023 (¥3,630)
Main Divide Chardonnay 2022 (¥3,740)

This project allows you to taste wine while speaking directly with some of the highest quality producers in New Zealand.
This will probably be a rare opportunity, so don't miss it!
