It's for an event stall.
As we previously announced, we will be setting up a New Zealand wine booth at the wine festival "ZIP-FM ," which will be held for two days, tomorrow and the day after, at Tsuruma Park in Nagoya.
It's been quite a while since I've done this, so I'm feeling a little nervous, checking various things and making arrangements.
In the past, I used to run an "Open Air Wine Bar" and often participated in outdoor events. I think I must have done so about seven or eight times.
We invited various musicians to play in front of the booth. That was really fun.
With help from past staff and volunteers, we were able to prepare, set up and take down in a friendly atmosphere. It really felt like a school festival.
The wine I drank at the after-party, feeling pleasantly tired, was exceptional.
After that, the COVID-19 pandemic caused our business style to change, and our event booths stopped altogether in recent years, but we are finally starting up again this month.
Unlike previous events which were simply fun and exciting, this time we are setting up a booth with an important mission.
Their mission is to "communicate the appeal of New Zealand wine to the people of Nagoya."
With many Japanese and international wines lined up at other booths, the key is to highlight New Zealand wines.
People passing by our booth see "New Zealand Wine."
"Wow, they make wine in New Zealand too."
"It's a festival, so let's try something a little different."
"What is this? It's fruity and delicious!"
"I'll try to pay more attention to New Zealand products from now on!"
It's important to establish this flow.
So the aim this time is to raise awareness.
To achieve this, we must be careful not to run out of stock. If we run out of stock midway through, we won't be able to deliver deliciousness and surprises to as many people as possible.
Therefore, we made a fairly aggressive purchase this time. Even if we receive a large number of orders not only for wine by the glass but also for bottles to take home, we probably won't run out of stock.
However, I was always worried about the weather. Since the beginning of this month, I have been checking the weather forecast every day as if praying...
Looks like we've been good!
The forecast for Nagoya is sunny, then cloudy, on both March 30th and 31st.
The predicted maximum temperature is 21°C on both days. It's nice weather. This will surely produce a lot of crisp, chilled white, sparkling, and rosé!
Ok, now we're all set.
But wait a minute. Something's missing.
I used to set up booths at events a lot when I was in my 30s and early 40s. What has changed in the few years since then is...
That's right. Loss of muscle mass. Easier fatigue. In other words, aging.
First, we have to bring in a huge amount of wine. We'll probably be pouring wine nonstop for a total of 14 hours over Saturday and Sunday.
And then, a large amount of empty bottles were removed.
My arms, my hips, my knees, my Achilles tendons: I worry about everything.
What was missing in the preparations was the physical strength and muscle training required to set up a stall at the event.
Hmm, it's too late now. I should at least do some stretching to warm up.
P.S.
