Today, I'll share a few things I've enjoyed recently.
・I received a sticker from a customer who came for the first time.
The stickers are of the face of his dog, and he loves his dog so much that he gives them out to all kinds of people. That's one way to show love.
・Yoshihiro Sato (former professional kickboxer) came to our table and gave us a handmade magazine "Bluet Tsuushin" and a sticker of the character "Nani Tozo-kun" that Sato invented. More stickers!
I felt like I had shared in the fun of someone who lives an interesting life.
・I received a LINE message with a photo from a regular customer in Kochi who frequently uses Bokumo Wine (mail order).
"I tried pairing Gewurztraminer with homemade spring rolls and it was delicious."
Right! That's right. Gewurzburger x coriander & sweet chili sauce is perfect. I'm glad you actually tried the pairing examples I always include.
Oh, I remember we had rice paper at home. I'll try this for the first time in a while.
・It had been a long time since I had a full day off, so I decided to splurge a little. I drove two hours by myself and had a full-course lunch of sweetfish in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture.
Sweetfish simmered in syrup, deep-fried, fish-flavored (with miso sauce), grilled with salt, and porridge. This is the season for sweetfish with eggs. They don't have the cucumber-like flavor that is unique to summer sweetfish, but the eggs inside the belly crumble easily and are delicious.
On the way home, I stopped by a bookstore and bought a paperback of Agatha Christie that I hadn't read yet. I read it in four hours. I see, this is the origin of a mystery. I was able to take a luxurious break.
・There was also this. A regular customer at the counter told me, "I got a boyfriend." Oh, I'm glad! Apparently, it started last week. I'm sure it'll be fun for a while. I hope it goes well.
・On another day, a man in his 20s came to the counter for the first time and said, "I want to learn about wine from now on." First, I explained the difference between red wine and white wine. If you don't mind, I'll tell you anything. I'm happy!
・Yesterday, a regular customer gave me some sesame mackerel as a souvenir from Fukuoka. What a perk. It was my first time trying it. It was delicious. It went perfectly with red wine (Sangiovese). Fish doesn't necessarily mean white.
On my way home from the restaurant, I bumped into the owner of Carnaval, a famous French restaurant in the neighborhood. We had a 20-minute update. It's nice to have a senior who's working hard nearby. It seems he'd been listening to the radio show I was on. I was happy and embarrassed.
That's a medley of fun things I've had recently.
Remembering and writing about it like this brings back the fun I had at the time, so I realized I can enjoy it twice.
