A slightly rich, flavorful Pinot
This wine is made from grapes grown in the Southern Valley, a region of Marlborough with a high clay content. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented with wild yeasts. 30% of the grapes are whole-cluster fermented, and then aged in barrels for 11 months.
The appearance is a little dark, and the aroma is typical of Marlborough, with a strong fruity impression, along with earthy nuances and the pleasant aroma of fragrant oak.
On the palate, dark cherry and plum fruit flavors, along with a cinnamon-like spice and ample tannins, spread throughout. This Pinot Noir has a youthful, taut impression and a firm, concentrated feel.
Recommended pairings include Genghis Khan and lamb chop steak. It also goes well with chicken teriyaki and hamburger steak with demi-glace sauce.
About Two Rivers Winery
Two Rivers is a winery founded in 2004 by winemaker David Clouston, who was born and raised in Marlborough.
The son of a fifth-generation farmer in Marlborough, he became interested in wine at the age of 17 and studied viticulture and brewing in New Zealand. He then experienced winemaking in 25 vintages around the world, including New Zealand, France, Spain, Corsica, the United States, and Chile, before returning to New Zealand and launching this winery.
The name "Two Rivers" comes from two of Marlborough's most famous rivers, the Wairau River and the Awatere River.
Furthermore, in 2019, they finally achieved their dream of opening their own winery, "The Wine Studio," which is now fully operational. Huge, state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks are lined up alongside concrete egg tanks and amphorae, and the winery's appearance conveys their respect for classical winemaking while also demonstrating their commitment to constantly trying new methods.

Marlborough has ideal natural conditions for grape growing, such as abundant sunshine and large temperature differences throughout the day, and produces over 80% of New Zealand's wine.
Among them, Sauvignon Blanc, characterized by its crisp acidity and overflowing fruitiness, boasts an overwhelming production volume and is loved worldwide for its unique character. In red wine, Pinot Noir, with its rich berry fruit flavor, is also popular.
