Refreshing citrus flavor
A very refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with the distinctive Marlborough flavors of citrus and passion fruit. "Totara" is named after the large native tree of New Zealand.
It goes well with green salads, appetizers such as white fish carpaccio, and fried foods such as fish and chips and chicken tatsuta-age.
About the Totara Wines Winery
Totara Wines is a joint venture between Opici Wines of the US and Endeavour Vineyards of Marlborough, New Zealand.
The winery employs Alan Peters Oswald, formerly of Cloudy Bay, as its winemaker, and produces flavoursome, concentrated wines that take advantage of the land and climate of Marlborough.
Totara Wines source grapes primarily from sustainably certified vineyards in the Wairau Valley and Wairau Lowlands and offers a fresh take on classic Marlborough varietals (Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir) in a New Zealand style.
"Totara" is the name of a huge tree native to New Zealand with a long history. The Totara tree, which has strength and durability, has been revered by the indigenous Maori people since ancient times. Totara Wines aims to be such a brand.
About Marlborough
Marlborough is the heart of New Zealand's wine region.
Marlborough has ideal natural conditions for grape growing, such as abundant sunshine and large temperature differences throughout the day, and more than 80% of New Zealand's wine is produced there.
Among them, Sauvignon Blanc, characterized by its crisp acidity and overflowing fruitiness, is produced in overwhelming quantities and is loved worldwide for its unique character. In addition, Pinot Noir, with its rich berry fruit flavor, is also popular among red wines.
