Refreshing Marlborough SB
A historic winery established about 150 years ago was brought back to life as a modern estate by the handsome Cowley brothers. This SB offers a pleasant acidity and a crisp, refreshing taste—an excellent value for the price.
This wine is perfect for the outdoors. It pairs beautifully with herb-topped carpaccio and also complements fried foods like karaage.
About Auntsfield Estate
Auntsfield Estate is one of the most historic wineries in Marlborough.
The founder of Auntsfield, David Herd, was a European immigrant who moved to Marlborough in 1854. Recognizing the potential of the region, which was then an untapped land for winemaking, Herd planted the very first grapevines there in 1873.
At Blenheim Airport, the gateway to Marlborough, a bronze statue of Herd stands to honor his legacy as the first person to produce wine in the region.
After 50 years of critical acclaim, Auntsfield ceased wine production after 1931 due to issues with succession and other factors.
However, in 2000, winemaking was revived by the Cowley family. They purchased the vast grounds of Auntsfield and began producing wine in a new facility while preserving the original historical cellar.
Today, Auntsfield remains a family-run operation led by brothers Ben and Luc Cowley.
The elder brother, Ben, is in charge of viticulture and lives on the vineyard, overseeing the vines daily.
The younger brother, Luc, focuses on winemaking, paying homage to the vision of David Herd and the grapes meticulously grown by his brother.

"Marlborough" is the heart of New Zealand's wine country.
With abundant sunshine and significant temperature variations between day and night, it provides the ideal natural conditions for grape growth; consequently, over 80% of New Zealand's wine is produced here.
Among these, Sauvignon Blanc—noted for its sharp acidity and overflowing fruit flavors—boasts an overwhelming production volume and is widely loved globally for its unique character. As for red wines, Pinot Noir, with its rich berry fruit profile, is also highly popular.
