Great value Pinot Noir
The Nelson is a high-value Pinot from Seyfried. You won't find a wine with this flavor anywhere else at this price. It features juicy dark berry flavors and a pleasant spiciness on the finish.
It can be used in a wide range of dishes, including prosciutto and mushroom salad, tuna tartare, roast chicken, meat and potato stew, and pork with ginger.
About the Seyfried Estate Winery
Seifried Estate is a winery opened by the Seifried couple, immigrants from Austria. They started cultivating vineyards in the 1970s and are now known as the oldest winery in the Nelson region. They specialize in Austrian and German varieties from their native region and have won numerous international competitions.
About Nelson
Nelson is located in the northern part of the South Island and is affectionately known as "Sunny Nelson" due to the extremely long hours of sunshine throughout the year.
This relatively small wine region is mostly made up of small wineries known as boutique wineries.
Taking advantage of the abundant sunshine, aromatic white wines such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Gris are mainly produced. Pinot Noir, which has a strong fruity flavor, is popular for red wine. Nelson is also famous for producing hops and fruits.
