This Sauvignon Blanc from the cold climate of Central Otago, with its lively freshness, truly brings to mind a "starlet" or young actress. Dominated by citrus aromas, it finishes dry.
Perfect pairings include mozzarella or feta cheese. Shrimp or snapper carpaccio, prosciutto salad, and fish fritters are also excellent choices!
Like a New Actress? Fresh and Juicy

The wine region of Central Otago is known for its cool climate. Sauvignon Blanc produced here offers a slightly different impression compared to those from Marlborough, New Zealand's major wine region.
While Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc often has prominent grapefruit and passionfruit notes, giving it a vibrant and energetic image, Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc tends to be dominated by lemon and lime, with a leaner profile.
It truly evokes the wine's name, "Starlet," or young actress.
Despite its lean impression, this wine has a high alcohol content of 14% and a solid umami flavor.
While herbaceous notes can be detected, fruity aromas are more prominent.
With firm acidity and a slight bitterness reminiscent of lemon peel, this is an ideal choice for those who prefer fruity wines.
Its fruitiness sets it apart from wines of other countries. This is a high-quality Sauvignon Blanc that expresses the essence of New Zealand.
Once you've tried Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, I highly recommend tasting wines from other regions too!

Recommended Pairings
One of the appealing aspects of NZ Sauvignon Blanc is that it can be thoroughly enjoyed on its own.
Taking it outdoors and chilling it well is a luxurious way to enjoy it all by itself.
For food pairings, salads with mild cheeses like mozzarella or feta, or shrimp and snapper carpaccio, are recommended. Fried fish dishes would also be a good choice.
Try pairing it with dishes that taste great with a squeeze of lemon or lime!

About Misha's Vineyard Winery

Misha's Vineyard is a winery located in the Central Otago region of New Zealand's South Island. While it's a relatively young winery, with its first release in 2008, Misha's wines have attracted significant attention and high praise from many critics.
When I visited New Zealand previously, I had the opportunity to tour Misha's Vineyard.

Owners Andy and Misha Wilkinson both have backgrounds working for a global IT company in Singapore. They harbored a long-held dream of making their own wine one day, and in 2001, they decided to embark on winemaking.
Aiming to produce "elegant Pinot Noir" in a cool climate, they narrowed down their search to Central Otago, New Zealand, and spent two long years meticulously selecting the perfect vineyard site.
This site is located on the shores of Lake Dunstan in Bendigo. The vineyard's terrain is very steep, with hard, lean soil.

The land where they began winemaking was also a central location during the gold rush of the late 1860s, with remnants of that era still present.
Misha mentioned that she particularly liked this location, partly because of its historical significance.
Misha's mother was an opera singer, and Misha herself aspired to be a ballerina from a young age. All of their wines' subtitles are named after musical and theatrical terms.
About the Central Otago Region
Central Otago, the southernmost wine region in New Zealand, is renowned as a prime Pinot Noir area, often grouped with Burgundy and Oregon as one of the "world's three great Pinot Noir regions."
Beyond Pinot Noir, the region also excels in cultivating aromatic white grapes. Central Otago is the only wine region in New Zealand with a semi-continental climate, characterized by significant diurnal temperature variations, cool temperatures, and very dry conditions.
It's also a hub for small-scale wineries, and winery tours based in the picturesque town of Queenstown are popular.
