This aromatic wine is perfect for the first part of a meal, such as with green salads, octopus carpaccio or barbecued seafood.
Citrus-flavored bubbles
When you think of the taste that represents New Zealand, you think of "Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc." Here is a sparkling wine that makes the most of its unique character.
The bubbles make the aroma fill the air as soon as it is poured into the glass. The main aromas are lime, grapefruit, passion fruit, and the green grass of a freshly cut lawn.
The grapes used for this wine are from the Wairau Valley, the northernmost part of Marlborough, and the wine expresses the characteristics of this land, which is prone to ripe citrus and tropical fruits.
In order to preserve the fresh fruit flavor, carbon dioxide is deliberately added to the white wine.
Therefore, the bubbles do not last very long, so if you enjoy the refreshing feeling of the bubbles, it may be best to drink this sparkling wine within a day.
However, even after the bubbles have died down, you can still taste the Sauvignon Blanc flavor, so it can still be enjoyed on the second or third day.
This can be described as a new style of sparkling wine that does not adhere to the Champagne method and instead expresses the "characteristic fruit character that is typical of New Zealand."
