About the Winery: Grove Mill
Grove Mill was established in 1988 by a group of local grape growers and enthusiasts in the Wairau Valley, the heart of the Marlborough wine region.
Long before sustainability became widely recognized, they pioneered a regional circular winemaking approach, consistently producing handcrafted premium wines with minimal environmental impact.
The "Southern Bell Frog" depicted on their label symbolizes their commitment to protecting the local land for future generations.
The Wairau Valley region is named after the Wairau River, which flows east to west from the mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Its stony, shallow, well-drained soil is ideal for cultivating wine grapes, producing uniquely flavorful and distinctive fruit characteristics.

"Marlborough" is the heart of New Zealand's wine region.
With abundant sunshine and significant diurnal temperature variation, the region boasts favorable natural conditions for grape growth. Marlborough accounts for over 80% of NZ's wine production.
