Rich Fruit Flavor, Hint of Oak
This Chardonnay is made by Kohei Koyama, a Japanese winemaker residing in New Zealand.
The aroma has a savory, roasted almond quality derived from the oak, combined with tropical fruit flavors like pineapple and mango.
On the palate, the fruit richness is more pronounced than the oak. It offers plum and grapefruit-like fruitiness, along with the pineapple flavor detected in the aroma.
Following this, the savory vanilla and almond flavors from the oak emerge.
Overall, while the fruit flavor is dominant, the acidity is not sharp, resulting in a creamy and mellow finish.
The grapes are organically grown from 25-year-old vines.
Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in oak barrels for one year, the wine is then bottle-aged at the winery for over two years before release.

About the Winery "Green Songs"
"Green Songs" is a winery run by Japanese winemaker Kohei Koyama.
After a successful career in the business world in Tokyo and London, Kohei decided to pursue winemaking in 2011 and moved to New Zealand.
He studied viticulture and winemaking at Lincoln University, graduating as the first Japanese student to top his class. He then gained practical winemaking experience in NZ and California, and in 2014, he partnered with Atamai Village in the Nelson region to establish his own winery.
Atamai Village is a community where orchards and farms are jointly managed with the shared goal of minimizing environmental impact.
Kohei also serves as the viticulturist and winemaker at "URLAR," a winery located in Gladstone, Wairarapa. "URLAR" is owned by Yoichiro Nishi, the 8th generation head of Nishi Shuzo in Kagoshima Prefecture.
Currently, Kohei primarily operates in Gladstone, expanding the range of Green Songs and broadening his winemaking endeavors. We look forward to his future achievements.
About the Wairarapa Region
"Wairarapa" is located in the southeastern part of New Zealand's North Island, about an hour's drive from the capital city of Wellington, making it a popular resort destination.
The sub-region of "Martinborough" within Wairarapa is known as one of the world's top producers of Pinot Noir, due to its climate and soil conditions being very similar to "Burgundy" in France.
