What is McCashin's Brewery?
McCashin's Brewery was founded in 1980 by former All Black player Terry McCashin.
He is the creator of the popular New Zealand brand "Mac's Gold" and a pioneer of New Zealand craft beer brewing.
STOKE is a new brand that Dean launched in 2009, following the traditional recipes of his father.
No artificial additives are used, and the beer is carefully brewed using carefully selected local Nelson hops (some of which are organic), premium malt, original yeast, and Palaeoo Water, a natural glacial water that is over 10,000 years old, resulting in a pure-tasting beer that brings out the natural flavor of the malt.
This time, we will be selling a set of STOKE IPA (India Pale Ale) and NPA (Nelson Pale Ale).
STOKE IPA (India Pale Ale)
STOKE IPA is made using four types of carefully selected local Nelson hops (three of which are organic) and malt from New Zealand and Australia, and is brewed slowly over four weeks using Palaeoo Water, a famous spring water that has been refined underground for 14,000 years.
This deep golden beer is made from lightly roasted malt and has a sweet, caramel-like aroma. It is easy to drink with just the right amount of hop bitterness.
STOKE NPA (Nelson Pale Ale)
The common belief that session beers are low in alcohol content does not mean that the beer's inherent aroma and flavor are weak.
STOKE NPA (Nelson Pale Ale), named after McCashin's Brewery's hometown of Nelson, is an easy-to-drink, fragrant session beer, with the aromatic Riwaka and Galaxy hops giving it a powerful, clean bitterness.
