The wines made by this husband-and-wife winemaking team with such an illustrious background are different from those made by large-scale wineries, and are in a style that pursues the unique character of new New Zealand wines.

Blank Canvas Una Volta Pinot Noir 2018
"Una Volta" means "once" in Italian. As the word suggests, this wine pursues a different personality every year. This 2018 vintage uses Pinot grapes from a particularly warm and dry area in Central Otago, where they are from. It has a silky smoothness and a very long aftertaste.
The best food to pair with this dish would be a high-quality New Zealand lamb steak. Also, sautéed duck or pork with just the right amount of fat would be good. Balsamic sauce would make it even better.
Blank Canvas Reed Chardonnay 2020
The wine is made from 20+ year old Chardonnay grapes grown by his friend, winegrower Reid. Fermented in barrels with wild yeast, no SO2 added during aging, and no stirring of the lees.
It has a hint of peach, a soft honey-like flavor, and a lingering aroma from the oak barrels. It is a high-quality wine that is gorgeous, rich, and complex.
This wine goes well with buttered flounder, chicken with cream sauce, carbonara, etc. Also, because it is a full-bodied white wine, it goes well with stewed lamb or beef.
