Pinot Gris is a popular grape variety in New Zealand. In the latest New Zealand vintage chart (2022 edition), the harvest volume increased significantly from last year, and it ranked third by production volume after Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir.

Gibson Bridge Pinot Gris Reserve 2020
The acidity is mild and the mouthfeel is mellow. The taste is not too assertive. This wine has a pleasant mineral feel and bitterness.
This wine with its mild flavor is perfect for Japanese dishes such as salt-grilled white fish and stewed pork and Chinese cabbage. It also goes well with tonkatsu (salt) and chicken nanban.
About the Winery "Gibson Bridge"
Gibson Bridge Vineyard is a boutique winery based in Marlborough.
Although it is located in the heart of Marlborough, where vast vineyards line the land, the winery's own vineyards are only 2 hectares (100m x 200m). And most of what is grown in this small vineyard is Pinot Gris, making it a very unusual winery.
The owner, Howard Simmons, is committed to doing all of the work related to the grapes by hand when making wine.
Although it is a relatively new winery, with its first vintage being in 2006, its Pinot Gris Reserve has won more than 20 gold medals at the New Zealand International Wine and Spirits Awards, and in 2010 won the highest award among Marlborough Cellar Doors.
