Soft & Mineral

First, my impressions from the tasting.

The color is slightly pale , and the bright berry fruit flavors are a strong impression in this Pinot Noir.

It has a concentrated flavor like cherry compote , and after swallowing , you will feel the powdery, smooth tannins that stick to your palate . The aftertaste lasts for a long time , inviting you to eat.

The balance of crisp acidity , fruitiness , hints of wood and spices other than fruit , and a pleasant, lingering powdery astringency make this a very satisfying drink.

I think this is a wine that is in no way inferior to Pinot Noirs in the same price range from Burgundy, and you can feel the high quality of each element.

The producer is The Marlborist, who named his winery after his extraordinary love for Marlborough, New Zealand's major wine-producing region.

This is a new winery founded by three experienced men who grew up in Marlborough.

They claim to be Marlboro specialists,

"To evolve Marlborough wine and create something special like nothing before."

We produce wines that are handmade rather than mass-produced, and are perfect for special occasions rather than for everyday use.

This Pinot Noir is made from six clones grown using a combination of organic and biodynamic methods .

The hand-picked grapes are chilled overnight and mostly destemmed. Natural fermentation is carried out using wild yeasts. The wine is aged in barrels for 11 months. Each batch is blended and shipped just before bottling.

It is made using a biodynamic and wild yeast-based natural method, but the flavor is extremely pure and complex, resulting in a beautiful finish.

It goes well with ratatouille, chicken or white fish stewed in tomato sauce, etc. Yakitori (with sauce) and grilled mackerel are also good.

About the winery "The Marlborist"

Their home town is Marlborough, located at the northern tip of New Zealand's South Island, between the Southern Alps and the Pacific Ocean.

They gained their winemaking knowledge and skills here, working under some of the region's pioneering winemakers.

Their goal is to convey their love for Marlborough through wine. Our goal is to produce the finest wine in Marlborough, New Zealand's largest wine producing region.

And the wines they make embody the charm of Marlborough that they experience every day.

Winemaker Rich Ellis is based in Blenheim and has used his experience at Atarangi and Greywacke to produce some outstanding wines.

Viticultural expert Stu Dudley travels throughout Marlborough supporting growers and applying his extensive knowledge of the region.

Brand Director Dave Nash is based in Auckland and is responsible for brand and storytelling and has also produced the documentary film, A Seat at the Table, about the New Zealand wine industry.

They source grapes from some of their favourite locations across Marlborough and produce their wines using simple methods.

Marlboroist wines are representative of New Zealand It is beautiful, expressive and elegant, reflecting the charm of the land of Marlborough.

About Marlborough

Marlborough is the heart of New Zealand's wine region.

Marlborough has ideal natural conditions for grape growing, such as abundant sunshine and large temperature differences throughout the day, and more than 80% of New Zealand's wine is produced there.

Among them, Sauvignon Blanc, characterized by its crisp acidity and overflowing fruitiness, is produced in overwhelming quantities and is loved worldwide for its unique character. In addition, Pinot Noir, with its rich berry fruit flavor, is also popular among red wines.
