High Cost-Performance Aged Merlot
A value wine that offers the feel of aged wine at an affordable price. While the smoothness of Merlot is central, there's also complexity from auxiliary grape varieties. The fruit flavors are somewhat subdued.
It pairs well with dishes that combine soy sauce, mirin, and meat, such as chicken teriyaki and pork belly kakuni. It also goes well with miso-based dishes like mackerel in miso stew and miso-glazed eggplant.

Wine Portfolio is a new winery started by the owner of "Morton Estate," which is highly acclaimed not only in New Zealand but worldwide, after selling its name to a major manufacturer.
They own numerous brands such as "Leveret Estate," "IQ," "Mills Reef," and "Southern Cross," producing wines from vineyards across New Zealand, including Hawke's Bay and Marlborough, to meet diverse needs.

Hawke's Bay is located in the eastern part of the North Island and is characterized by abundant sunshine and a relatively warm climate, boasting the second-largest grape cultivation area in the country.
Hawke's Bay particularly focuses on producing red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah, while fruity Chardonnays are popular among white wines.
Furthermore, the "Gimblett Gravels" area, which was originally a riverbed pushed up by an earthquake, has become one of Hawke's Bay's important sub-regions.
