Pinot Noir is generally known as a soft, delicate variety with low tannins, but the New Zealand style is characterized by its slightly stronger berry fruit flavors and overall fruitiness.

At my restaurant, "Bokumo," even those who are not particularly fond of red wine often tell me, "I can actually enjoy NZ Pinot Noir."

However, the downside is that Pinot Noir is a difficult grape to grow and not suited for mass production, so it tends to be expensive.
