About the Winery "Two Rivers"

Two Rivers is a winery established in 2004 by winemaker David Clouston, who was born and raised in Marlborough.

As the son of a fifth-generation Marlborough farmer, he developed an interest in wine at age 17 and studied viticulture and winemaking in New Zealand. He then gained experience making 25 vintages of wine in various countries including NZ, France, Spain, Corsica, America, and Chile, before returning to NZ to establish this winery.

The name "Two Rivers" comes from the two major rivers in Marlborough, the Wairau River and the Awatere River.

In 2019, they also launched their long-awaited winery, "The Wine Studio." With state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks, concrete egg tanks, and amphorae lining the winery, you can sense their commitment to both traditional winemaking and a constant drive to experiment with new methods.

This "Black Cottage" wine is another range from Two Rivers, conceptualized as "Wines with Gusto." The focus is on crafting approachable, simply delicious wines.

With abundant sunshine and large diurnal temperature swings, it boasts ideal natural conditions for grape growing, producing over 80% of New Zealand's wine.
