A refined Chardonnay that doesn't overpower
Fermented using wild yeast, this Chardonnay brings out the natural flavor.
The aroma of the barrel is not too strong, and the overall taste is refined and not too assertive.
It goes well with seafood cream stew, creamed chicken, and white fish butter meunière.
Fish and chips are also good.
About Two Rivers Winery
Two Rivers is a winery founded in 2004 by winemaker David Clouston, who was born and raised in Marlborough.
The son of a fifth-generation farmer in Marlborough, he became interested in wine at the age of 17 and studied viticulture and brewing in New Zealand. He then experienced winemaking in 25 vintages around the world, including New Zealand, France, Spain, Corsica, the United States, and Chile, before returning to New Zealand and launching this winery.
The name "Two Rivers" comes from two of Marlborough's most famous rivers, the Wairau River and the Awatere River.
Furthermore, in 2019, they finally achieved their dream of opening their own winery, "The Wine Studio," which is now fully operational. Huge, state-of-the-art stainless steel tanks are lined up alongside concrete egg tanks and amphorae, and the winery's appearance conveys their respect for classical winemaking while also demonstrating their commitment to constantly trying new methods.
This wine, "Black Cottage," is another range from Two Rivers, which operates under the concept of "Wines with Gusto." The aim is to create more approachable, simply delicious wines.
About Hawke's Bay
Hawke's Bay is located in the eastern part of the North Island and is a region characterized by abundant sunshine and a relatively warm climate, boasting the second largest grape-growing area in Australia.
Hawke's Bay specializes in producing red wines, particularly those made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Syrah, while the fruity Chardonnay is a popular white wine.
Additionally, the Gimlet Gravels area, which was created when an earthquake pushed up what was originally a riverbed, is one of Hawke's Bay's most important subregions.
