The wonderful thing about being good at planning

There is nothing more wonderful than someone who is good at planning.

A person who is good at planning is someone who can "plan a logical path to achieving a goal."

Someone who is proactive, considerate of others, and flexible.

In other words, he's almost the complete opposite of me.

Cool. So cool that I want to call him Dandler. Or maybe it's lame. Well, it's fine.

But every once in a while, there are some amazing Dandlers. And yesterday, I really got to experience just how amazing they are.

Yesterday, Bokumo staff took advantage of their day off to hold a reunion.

There were seven people in total, including me, who gathered. The group was made up of staff who had worked for Bokumo in the first half of its 14-year history.

Many of the staff members have thankfully come back to visit Bokumo even after they have left. So, for me, there were no "faces I hadn't seen in a really long time," but there were some former staff members who hadn't seen each other for a long time, and it was really exciting.

We gathered at the shop in the afternoon, ate and drank the food that each of us had brought, catching up on what was going on in our lives, reminiscing about old times, and exchanging information about the places we had traveled to, and before we knew it, it was dark outside.

But it was a really happy time. I thought to myself how grateful I am that the people I worked with at the store I created have all become a bit older over the years, and that I will have the opportunity to meet them again and laugh with them.

The person who arranged the event was Mr. E, who now lives in the Kanto region.

At the end of last year, when E-san came back to Nagoya, he came to Bokumo for a drink at the counter. After paying the bill and about to leave the store, former staff member N-chan came in! The two of them giggled and said, "Wow! It's been a while!"

Then E said, "Yeah, I'd like to have a Bokumo reunion," and N replied, "That sounds like a good idea, I'd like to see everyone again too." (They were talking near the exit, so I didn't hear them, I only heard about it later.)

However, when you have had a few drinks, you run into some familiar faces, get excited, and decide to have a class reunion on the spot, but it often doesn't happen.

However, Mr. E was different.

We contacted former staff members who we were connected with on social media and created a survey to find out where they could come during Golden Week. We compiled the results and decided on the day when the most people could come. We also assigned people responsibilities for bringing food and snacks on the day.

Now that's the job of a top dander.

Thanks to this, I was able to spend such a rich time. I am very grateful.

And I felt deeply that I needed to do more to promote this store, which had been involved with such wonderful people.

That's right. What I've always thought about running a restaurant is the constant sense of urgency that it could go bust. There are big ups and downs. I've almost given up more than once or twice.

But when there are reunions like the one yesterday, I am reminded once again.

I guess it's sad when the store where I worked closes.

It's not a great store that I can brag about elsewhere, but I think there's meaning in a store like this continuing to exist.

To achieve this, we need to do what we can, little by little. Some staff members were unable to come this time, so I will ask E-san to make arrangements again in a little while. Let's do our best to continue to exist until the second event.

By the way, some of my former staff members are extremely good at planning trips. I have traveled with them before, and they invited me to plan another trip together.

I am just a random dandler, but I am supported by the wonderful dandling of the wonderful dandlers.

thank you.
