As we have reported frequently on this site, a cyclone struck the North Island of New Zealand in February of this year, causing extensive damage.
Cyclone Gabriel has forced New Zealand into a state of emergency for the third time in its history, with Prime Minister Hipkins saying "the severity of the damage is unlike anything we have ever experienced".
Approximately 10,000 residents lost their homes, and the total damage is said to be more than 1 trillion yen.
Osawa Holdings , headquartered in Shiga, has stepped up to offer support to the victims.
Osawa Holdings operates the winery " OSAWA WINES " in Hawke's Bay, an area affected by the floods, and also operates the multi-purpose tourist facility " English Garden Roseberry Tawada " in their home city of Maibara, Shiga.
It has now been decided that a " New Zealand Disaster Recovery Support Event " will be held at Rosanberry Tawada.
The donations raised will be used for local disaster recovery efforts through the New Zealand Red Cross.

At English Garden Rosaberry Tawada, a portion of the admission fee and sales from the menu (with some exceptions) served at the BBQ area on Saturday, April 15, 2023 will be donated as disaster recovery relief funds.
