As we have previously announced on social media, we are now pleased to announce that our online shop , BOKUMO WINE , had its grand opening on July 1st, 2021!
My dream has finally come true and I am now able to open a store selling my beloved New Zealand wine (hereafter referred to as NZ wine).
I'm really grateful to everyone who has supported me and watched over me until now.
In this article, I would like to briefly introduce some of the features of our upcoming wine shop , Bokumo Wine .
Although we still have many shortcomings, Iwasu and all of our staff will do our utmost to make this a store that is loved by everyone!
What kind of shop is Bokumo Wine?
"Bokumo Wine" is named after "Bokumo," a restaurant I run in Nagoya.
" Bokumo " , run by Iwasu, is a restaurant that started in 2009. When it first opened, it was a casual wine izakaya that handled wines from various countries, but one day he encountered "New Zealand wine" and was shocked by its excellence. Since then, "Bokumo" has shifted to become a wine bar that specializes in serving New Zealand wines.
In addition to his restaurant business, Iwasu has also been working as a radio scriptwriter for the past 25 years. To Iwasu, NZ Wine is like a musician before he makes it big.
"They have great talent and charm, but that hasn't been conveyed to Japan yet."
We felt that it would be a shame to continue like this, so in 2019 we started running the online media "New Zealand Wine Lovers" to spread the appeal of NZ wine, as an effort to spread awareness of NZ wine to more people.
However, I began to realize once again that when it comes to wine, you need more than just knowledge; you need actual experience.
"I want to deliver something that I think is truly delicious!"
"We want to provide wines that everyone, from wine novices to wine enthusiasts, can enjoy."
With this in mind, we have created a place where you can not only introduce the New Zealand wines that Iwasu loves so much, but also actually purchase them.
That is... Bokumo Wine !!

Anyway, this "Bokumo Wine" is packed with a lot of love and passion. I hope to share the charm of "exciting NZ wine" with you all!
Bokumo Wine's Commitment
There are countless wine shops in the world, but here we would like to introduce what Bokumo Wine is particular about.
All the wines are carefully selected by Iwasu after tasting.
As I mentioned earlier, one of Bokumo Wine's specialties is the selection of wines.
Iwasu racks his brains day and night to choose his wines with great care. He literally carefully selects only those that he truly believes are delicious, without compromising.
We want to provide something that won't disappoint even for those who are drinking New Zealand wine for the first time.
I don't want to just sell it and be done with it.
In most sales, the relationship with the customer ends once the product is sold.
Of course, there are many items for which this is not necessary, but when it comes to wine, we feel that this would be a waste.
It was a great opportunity to come across this wine.
We want our customers to enjoy their wine to the fullest.
We thought about how we could achieve this, and came up with the original booklets and wine cards.

Have you ever felt that wine is difficult to understand?
Even if there is a complicated explanation written, you don't feel like reading it, but at the same time, you still want to know the difference, but... (there is an infinite loop here and there) I'm sure everyone has had this experience at least once or twice.
I think there are many people who would like to know how to have fun without having to study too much.
Therefore, at Bokumo Wine, we decided to include with each bottle of wine you order a card with illustrations that describes the characteristics of the wine, such as its aroma and flavor, as well as suggestions for food that pair well with it. All of the explanatory comments are, of course, original by Iwasu.
The appeal of wine is multiplied many times over when it is paired with food!
By the way, the back side can be used to write dates and comments, etc. We hope you will use it to keep your own wine record along with the wine information.
