The popular chocolate that everyone loves at Kiwi is now available as an ice cream

Tip Top's Whittaker's Peanut Slab ice cream hits New Zealand stores

Founded in 1896, Whittaker's is the second largest chocolate brand in New Zealand according to Wikipedia. The largest is the British brand Cadbury, but to be honest, Whittaker's is much tastier than Cadbury.

Crafting New Zealand's finest chocolate

"We make the best chocolate in New Zealand"

So I think it's safe to say it's number one.

In recent years, Whittaker's has been aggressively selling a variety of flavored, slightly more expensive chocolate bars, but when you think of Whittaker's, you think of...

 PEANUT SLAB

A simple chocolate bar made of milk chocolate and packed with peanuts.

SLAB means a concrete slab, and this chocolate bar is packed with peanuts, making it very sturdy and filling.

The PEANUT SLAB was created in the 1950s and has been loved by Kiwis ever since with the same recipe. The PEANUT SLAB is the epitome of Whittaker's.

This PEANUT SLAB has been made into an ice cream in collaboration with Tip Top, New Zealand's largest ice cream maker!

I've seen Whittaker's chocolate in Japan, but this ice cream can only be found in New Zealand. If you see it there, be sure to give it a try!

The tastiest dairy products in the world?! New Zealand, a dairy powerhouse

Tip Top has been New Zealand's leading ice cream maker for over 80 years and has won numerous awards (including the most popular ice cream of the year). They have also collaborated with Whittaker's to release a number of chocolate ice cream bars.

Many of the ice cream shops selling Tip Top in cups and cones at local convenience stores also sell Tip Top ice cream, and convenience stores and supermarkets have a wide selection of ice cream in cups and bars.

And the standard household size is the 2 liter bottle!

New Zealand is a major dairy country. The cows are raised in the vast land, eating grass. If you drink milk in New Zealand, you may not feel the richness that is advertised in Japanese milk.

But perhaps the milk from cows raised in such an environment is what real milk tastes like. And there's no doubt that New Zealand dairy products made from that milk are delicious!

Not only ice cream, but cheese and butter are also recommended.

This is Kapiti cheese from the Kapiti region, about 40 minutes drive north from the capital, Wellington.

This is definitely a classic NZ ice cream!

A New Zealand ice cream that can be found in Japan is the very classic Hokey Pokey ice cream!

Hokey pokey is a vanilla ice cream with honeycomb toffee (known as caramelized candy in Japan). The honeycomb toffee is like a crunchy block of caramel.

The recipe site of Chelsea, a New Zealand sugar and syrup company, also includes instructions on how to make Hokey pokey.

However, be careful as I have had many experiences where something called "hokey pokey" turned out to be just caramel ice cream.

Be sure to try the authentic Hokey pokey ice cream at Bokumo , just like the one you can get in New Zealand!
