Bokumo, a restaurant run by Iwasu, a Bokumo wine sommelier, is a wine bar that specializes in serving New Zealand wines.
In this article, we will introduce you to Bokumo in detail.
"Bokumo" is a wine bar located on the outskirts of Sakae, Nagoya.
Sakae is one of Nagoya's most famous downtown areas.
"Bokumo" is located in "Sakae 5-chome", a little away from the center. The nearest station is "Yabacho Station". It is a hidden wine bar about a 2-minute walk from this station.
The shop is located underground. Look for this sign.
Go down the stairs and the shop is on your right.
Although it is a wine bar, it has a casual atmosphere, so please feel free to drop in even if it's your first time or you're alone.
Sommelier Iwasu, who loves New Zealand, is at the counter
Iwasu stands at a place called the "wine counter."
Previously, there were only four counter seats, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of counter seats has been increased. (*Please note that there may be one day a week when Iwasu is not at the store.)
If you sit at this wine counter, you can enjoy a glass of wine on the day or bottled wine in stock while listening to Iwasu's commentary.
There are always 8 to 10 types of wine by the glass, mainly from New Zealand. Tasting sets are also available.
Bokumo focuses on wine by the glass.
For a while after we closed, we were unable to increase the number of wines available by the glass, but we now have 8 to 10 different types available at all times, including red, white, sparkling, and orange wines.
In addition, for those who particularly love wine, we also offer a "wine tasting set" that allows you to enjoy six different wines, which is also very popular.
Of course, we also have a wide selection of bottled wines, from relatively affordable options to premium wines.
The wine selection includes wines from every region of New Zealand.
If you have the chance to visit New Zealand, why not try some locally made wine?
They also boast dishes that go well with wine. The New Zealand lamb chops are especially delicious!
Bokumo is popular not only for its wine but also for its food.
Although it is a privately owned restaurant, the in-house chef creates and serves authentic dishes that go well with wine.
The most popular dish is the lamb chop steak made with New Zealand lamb. It goes perfectly with red wine!
We also offer casual yet authentic dishes such as salads, meat dishes, and the chef's signature pasta.
Enjoy it with some wine!
The appeal of wine is multiplied when enjoyed with delicious food. Please ask sommelier Iwasu about the best food and wine pairings.
The wines you drink at Bokumo can be purchased at Bokumo Wine
Although some wines are not available for sale, most of the wines offered at "Bokumo" can be purchased at Bokumo Wines. Please enjoy New Zealand wine at home.
In addition, Bokumo Wine includes a "wine card" with every purchase that describes the wine's aroma and flavor, as well as dishes that go well with that wine.
We would be very happy if you could enjoy it at home while remembering Iwasu's explanation that you heard at the store.
If you buy online and pick it up at a Bokumo store, there's no shipping fee. So it's easy to buy even just one bottle!
In addition, wine purchased through Bokumo Wine can be picked up at Bokumo.
If you purchase from our online shop, we will normally cover the shipping costs for purchases over 10,000 yen (excluding summer), but if you pick up your order at a Bokumo store, there will be no shipping charge regardless of the amount of your purchase.
If you would like to pick up your order at Bokumo, please write this in the comments section when purchasing from Bokumo Wine.
