*Bokumo closed in June 2026.
Bokumo, a restaurant run by Bokumo Wine's sommelier Iwasu, is a wine bar specializing in New Zealand wines.
In this article, we will introduce "Bokumo" in detail.
"Bokumo" is a wine bar located off the beaten path in Sakae, Nagoya
Sakae is one of Nagoya's most prominent entertainment districts.
"Bokumo" is located in "Sakae 5-chome," a short distance from the city center. The nearest station is "Yabacho Station," and it's about a 2-minute walk from there, making it a hidden gem of a wine bar.
The shop is located in the basement. This sign is your landmark.

Go down the stairs, and the shop is on your right.
Even though it's a wine bar, it has a casual atmosphere, so please feel free to stop by, whether you're a first-timer or coming alone.

Sommelier Iwasu, who loves New Zealand, is at the counter
Iwasu stands at the "wine counter."

Previously, there were only four counter seats, but the number of counters was increased after the pandemic. (Please note that Iwasu is not always at the shop, approximately one day a week).
Sitting at this wine counter, you can enjoy the day's glass wines and bottled wines in stock while listening to Iwasu's explanations.
8-10 types of glass wines, mainly from New Zealand, are always available. Wine tasting sets are also available.
"Bokumo" places great emphasis on its glass wine selection.
For a while after reopening, it was difficult to increase the number of glass wines, but now we always have 8-10 types, including red, white, sparkling, and orange wines.

Also, for those who especially love wine, we offer a "wine tasting set" where you can enjoy six types of wine, which is very popular.

Of course, we also have a wide selection of bottled wines, from relatively affordable ones to premium wines.

Our wine selection includes varieties from various regions of New Zealand.
If you've visited NZ, how about trying wines produced in those regions?
Our dishes that pair well with wine are also a point of pride. The NZ lamb chops are especially exquisite!
"Bokumo" receives high praise not only for its wines but also for its cuisine.
Although it's an independent restaurant, our dedicated chef creates and serves authentic dishes that pair well with wine.
The most popular dish is the lamb chop steak made with New Zealand lamb. Paired with red wine, it's the perfect combination!

We also offer other casual yet authentic dishes, such as salads, meat dishes, and the chef's special pasta.
Please enjoy them with our wines!

Wine's charm is multiplied many times over when enjoyed with delicious food. Please feel free to ask Sommelier Iwasu about food and wine pairings.
Wines you drank at "Bokumo" can be purchased at Bokumo Wine
Although some wines are not for sale, most of the wines offered at "Bokumo" can be purchased at Bokumo Wine. Please enjoy NZ wines at home as well.
Also, Bokumo Wine includes a "wine card" that describes the aroma, taste, and recommended food pairings for the wine you purchased.
We would be delighted if you could enjoy the wine at home, recalling Iwasu's explanations from the shop.
No shipping fees if you buy online and pick up at Bokumo. This makes it easy to buy even just one bottle!
Also, wines purchased from Bokumo Wine can be picked up at "Bokumo."
When purchasing from our online shop, we typically cover shipping costs for purchases over 10,000 yen (excluding summer). However, if you choose to pick up your order at "Bokumo," there will be no shipping costs regardless of the purchase amount.
If you wish to pick up your order at "Bokumo," please mention this in the remarks section when you make your purchase at Bokumo Wine.
Finally
If you have the opportunity to visit Nagoya, please feel free to stop by "Bokumo."
Sommelier Iwasu and the entire Bokumo staff look forward to welcoming you.
By the way, Sato, a staff member of "Bokumo Wine," also frequents the counter. If you happen to meet him, please say hello!
